COSTAE - FURNITURE DESIGN.

YEAR 3 // SEMESTER 2.

'Costae' is a group project that involved the design and 1:1 construction of a furniture piece following the brief of 'inside-outside'. Costae was designed for Fortitude Valley State Secondary College. It reflects the schools flexibility and ability to adapt to their students needs through the backrests which move and is a macro representation of the micro pivot movement that happens within a childs body as they move, explore and learn. It reflects the brief of inside-outside as it is able to be placed in both interior and exterior environments and the mechanism from the 'inside' of the furniture piece controls how the outside of the piece looks and moves - just like in a childs body. Costae won the student competition at Indooroopilly Shopping Centre.

ZEDPOD FOR THE HOMELESS PHYSICAL MODEL.

YEAR 2 // SEMESTER 1.

This model was created to accompany the presentation that was delivered to explain the design 'order in disorder' - a zedpod to provide a temporary, transitional place of living for homeless people who are trying to get back on their feet.
